I'm Back!

Well...I see that my last post was in April. It makes me so sad that time gets away from me that easily! It's been an eventful couple of months; but, the most exciting part is my new job! I am now teaching 8th Grade Language Arts at Cherokee Middle School in Kingston, Tennessee! It feels so good to be back in the classroom again. I loved being a stay at home mommy, and being a teacher's assistant last year was fun too. But I didn't realize how much I missed having my own classroom until the school year started 4 weeks ago! I spent a lot of my summer digging through all my boxed up school stuff and creating lesson plans. So, I am sad to say that scrapbooking kind of took a back seat for awhile. I have dabbled a little bit with some digital kits. My absolute favorite designer of the moment is Lorie Davison. Her kits are so "out there" and the possiblities for creating pages are endless. Her kits can be found at scrapbookgraphics.com. I have purchased every single one of her kits and like waiting for my favorite author to publish a new novel...I am on the edge of my seat waiting for her newest releases! These kits lend themselves very easily to creating layouts for gifts too. I can't say enough about Lorie Davison. I am also working on my digital cookbook. It will forever be a work in progress, as I am also finding new recipes!

Thankful

Well, after a night in the ER and a days worth of Doctors visits...we have a diagnosis. My pain is coming from a very large cyst on my right ovary. From what I hear this is fairly common and it should resolve itself. However, I know that this is something that started back in September so I am afraid it will not just "go away." I've had some time to realize how thankful I am for the one child I did bring into this world...Peyton. He is truly the sunshine in my life and the inspiration for most of my scrappin and writing. My husband coaches baseball...so he is especially proud of this picture of course. I just wanted to post it because it is way too cute to keep to myself!

HAPPY EASTERTIME!

I have all these awesome digital scrapbooking kits that I could use to decorate my blog...but am still trying to learn the language of HTML and all that good computer stuff. So, until I have mastered the art of communicating with my computer...I will have to rely on other generous blog designers to keep my blog looking pretty! I chose this design because it reminds me of Easter, which is just around the corner! I took my son Peyton to his first Easter Egg hunt at our church this past Friday evening. Before we left I took some plastic eggs and laid them around the house and then we practiced "hunting" for them and putting them into his basket. He did really well...although he passed by many eggs and actually put some back after he had picked them up! But he filled his whole bucket with 31 eggs and I didn't help him at all! Well, ok...I pointed them out to him...but HE put them all in all by himself! Of course my digital camera bit the dust last week, so I had to resort to my old film camera. So, I will post the pictures on here as soon as I get my pictures and cd back from Wal-mart! I had forgotten how exciting it is to turn in rolls of film and have to wait to see what your pictures look like! Of course, I also had forgotten how much it costs to buy 35mm film AND get it developed. Oh well, I am just glad I had my old stand-by to fall back on! I have some new LO to post on here...so I am off to upload them!

Here We Go!!!

Well, I am not new to Blogging...but I am new to Blogging where others will probably read it! I usually take a few minutes to reflect on my day at school, and I do that on another Blog. It helps me to remember all of the funny things that my students say and do...because I hope to write a book someday! But now I get to Blog about my favorite thing in the whole wide world...SCRAPBOOKING! I am so lucky that Angel from www.prettyscrappy.com has given me the opportunity to work on her CT! Her designs are awesome and I'm having a lot of fun. Now I am going to participate in my first ever Blog Train! Who knew! I'm really looking forward to learning how to personalize my blog space with my digital scrapbooking supplies too. Hopefully I can figure all of this stuff out in time! Welcome to my blog.
